Elvyda Skuodytė has gained education of librarian in Vilnius University (1977) and since graduation until 2012 has worked in Vilnius County Adomas Mickevičius public library. From 1978 she was the head of the Department of Methodology, later (1995-1996) was appointed as the director and vice director (1996-2012) of the library. From 2012 E.Skuodytė is a chief methodologist at Library Management Department in National Library, where she organizes and implements scientific research projects in public libraries‘ system of Lithuania.
Main research interests of E.Skuodytė are: public libraries, library managements, aquisition of library materials, library services, further education of professional competencies of librarians. She have delivered more than 80 presentations, dedicated to librarianship and library management, in various national and international Professional events. There are more than 20 articles by E.Skuodytė published mostly in professional periodicals.
