Mr Kari Lämsä is the manager of Library 10 and Meetingpoint, both of which are Helsinki City Library’s development centres for new physical and digital library services. Library 10 and Meetingpoint offer services that customers do not even expect of the library, such as rehearsal and recording studios, audio and video editing rooms and Maker Space with 3D printers and other Fab Lab equipment. Each year, hundreds of domestic and foreign cultural and library professionals and other visitors come to acquaint themselves with Library 10. Mr Lämsä has given lectures on new library services at numerous international conferences. He has worked in the public library sector for over 20 years and his particular interests deal with developing public city spaces in a way that satisfies the needs of the users of digital content.
