Zinaida is actively involved in initiatives and research concerning digitisation of cultural heritage. Since 2003 she has participated in the EU projects CALIMERA, TEL-ME-MOR, LIS Education in Europe, DPE and NUMERIC. Currently is an expert in the Advisory Board of ENUMERATE project, member of Member States' Expert Group on Digitisation Statistics and the member of the Editorial board of LIBER Quarterly journal. Another domain of Zinaida‘s research interests – strategic planning for libraries. Currently, she is a head of research group in national project LiBiTOP, aiming at developing a strategic framework for county public libraries and libraries of national significance in Lithuania. Within the project, she and her colleagues were the first who applied scenario planning method to aid the development of library strategies in Lithuania.
