Rasa Antanavičiūtė (Vilnius Museum)
Vilnius, a border city with a history reminiscent of a roller coaster, has plenty of inconvenient heritage. How do we deal with it, what do we choose to remember and what do we choose to forget? Where do we try to smooth out the potholes of the grand narrative, and where do we erect warning signs? In the presentation, I look back at some specific cases from the 20th and 21st centuries, considering to what extent such a heritage is therapeutic and to what extent it is toxic?
