Kadri Koreinik is an Associate Professor of Sociology of Language at the Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics, Department of Applied Linguistics, University of Tartu, Estonia. Her research focuses on language policy, multilingualism, minority and regional languages, linguistic landscapes, and the social dimensions of language use and change. She is interested in the extralinguistic factors that shape language use, with particular attention to language practices and policies in multilingual and minority-language communities. Her research has addressed the South Estonian variety Võro and the experiences of Russian-speaking students in schools transitioning to Estonian-language instruction in North-East Estonia. She has published on language policy, language ideologies, minority languages, and multilingualism. She is co-editor of Language Policy Beyond the State (Springer, 2017) and Revoicing Intangible Cultural Heritage: Perspectives from the Margins of Europe (Routledge, 2025).
