National librarians face a unique set of challenges in a rapidly changing world. Leadership and evolving professional practice are both essential if we are to address these challenges, but the greatest opportunities lie in the impulse for professionals and institutions to work in partnership. Liz Jolly draws upon her experiences as Chief Librarian at the British Library, and more than 20 years at the forefront of the profession, to explore the potential of working with a multiplicity of partners across regions, sectors and national frontiers and forging creative and enduring partnerships.
