The Problem of Trusting the Lithuanian Mass Media During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Challenges of Legal Regulation of Public Information

Lithuania has been long facing the problem of public confidence in mass media, which is determined not only by increasing flows of custom information, the identification of the fourth estate with political powers but also by legal regulation issues. The presentation analyses the reasons for the Lithuanian infodemia as well as challenges in the management of public broadcaster, the mission of which in a democratic society is ensuring pluralism of opinions and mobilisation of the society and civil harmony.
