Sonia Guerriero, Doctor of Philosophy, a Senior ECD & Education Specialist at UNESCO
Sonia Guerriero will present a snapshot of UNESCO’s work in the area of early childhood and education, following on the conclusion of the second World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education, which took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 14-16 November 2022, and that reaffirmed the right of every child to quality early childhood care and education services beginning from birth. The presentation is framed around four overarching themes: (1) equity, quality and wellbeing; (2) teachers and caregivers; (3) programme innovations; and (4) policy, governance and financing.
