Airport Information

On 14th July – 18th August 2017, Vilnius Airport runway will be under reconstruction.
For 35 summer days Kaunas will become a capital of aviation in Lithuania since most of the flights will be diverted to Kaunas Airport.
Kaunas International Airport is located in the central part of the country, 14 km northeast of the Kaunas city centre and 100 km west from the capital Vilnius. Airport website: https://www.kaunas-airport.lt

How to travel from Kaunas to Vilnius?
By bus: Kaunas Airport Express. Bus schedule is coordinated with Ryanair flight schedule and serves every flight. You can buy tickets here: http://www.ollex.lt/en/express.
By train: city bus No. 29 from Kaunas Airport to Kaunas Train station. From Kaunas train station to Vilnius by train. Train timetable: https://www.traukiniobilietas.lt/portal/en.
One-way trip – around € 6.

Tips for traveling to Wroclaw, Poland (IFLA WLIC 2017)
By bus: You can go from Vilnius to Wroclaw (Poland) by bus, travel duration: approx. 15 hours, travel average price: € 30. ( https://ecolines.net/lt/en ).
By plane: You will be able to book the flight Vilnius – Wroclaw already on 18th of August (Polish Airlines LOT: 18 aug 15:30 Vilnius (VNO) – 18 aug 16:30 Warsaw (WAW) – 18 aug 17:25 Wroclaw (WRO). The flight takes about two hours and the prize is about 220 US $ per person. (http://www.vilnius-airport.lt/en/). However, if the tickets won‘t be available yet, You should book Your flight from Kaunas International Airport. To go from Vilnius to the Kaunas International Airport You can use Kaunas Airport Express (http://www.ollex.lt/en/express).
